A tiny Mountain Kingdom enwrapped by South Africa. It is known to the locals as the ‘Kingdom of the Sky’ and the people are often referred to as the ‘Blanket People’. Lesotho is mostly made up of the rolling highlands and dramatic, rugged peaks of some of the highest points in Southern Africa.

The mountainous geography lends a spectacular backdrop to numerous outdoor activities that include pony trekking, rock climbing, fishing, abseiling, hiking, bird watching, mountain biking and even skiing in the snow-covered slopes below the Mahlasela Pass. This landlocked country is best experienced on an overland tour or by self driving over 3 to 5 days.

Lesotho is a land of contrasts. Despite being one of the lowest-income countries in the world with many people living on less than 1 USD a day, it rates higher than average on the World Happiness index – attributed to this is the many smiling faces you will find on your travels through Lesotho.
